History

The Benchmark National Quality Award (BNQA) was established by Benchmark Trust with a clear vision ,  to build a strong, quality-centric ecosystem that empowers Indian organizations to embrace excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Benchmark Trust initially made its mark through the India 5000 Business Awards, which recognized thousands of outstanding enterprises across the nation. While these awards celebrated business achievements, there was a growing need for a more structured, transformative platform focused on quality excellence and organizational performance.

To address this, BNQA was launched as a national framework rooted in the principles of quality leadership and performance excellence, drawing inspiration from globally respected models such as the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program (USA) and the European Quality Awards. 

BNQA goes beyond recognition; it serves as a strategic quality framework that helps organizations self-assess, benchmark against the best, and implement practices that lead to sustainable growth, operational effectiveness, and stakeholder satisfaction.

With its focus on leadership, customer-centricity, innovation, and measurable outcomes, BNQA encourages organizations to cultivate a culture of continuous quality improvement and systemic excellence.
